This week I was asked to write for my university's newspaper regarding movies and their relation to Valentine's Day. I was given freedom with that general prompt and chose to write on how the tradition of dinner and a movie may not be the ultimate expression of love and appreciation. The perspective I hoped to encourage was one of examining the activities we engage in with others and how they communicate our value of those people.
The headline chosen for the article is a bit pointed compared to the thesis of the piece. Hopefully, it will not sway your reading too greatly.
