For the second year of our time at FSU, we have to select a specialization.
I wavered for a long time between Cinematography and Directing. Both work together so precisely to communicate the story, the characters, the emotion. I adore lights and the camera. But ultimately I decided to choose directing.
I did this for a myriad of reasons, but the main being I want more practice shepherding the overall vision of an entire piece. I think FSU is a great place for experimentation and stretching in that area.
Ultimately, directing is what I want to do, even though I also have a passion for cinematography.
Hopefully, in the future, I'll have the opportunity to do both.
Over the next year, I will spend my time developing, shooting, and editing my thesis as well as working on the other films of my fellow students.
