Please enjoy a few snaps above that are from our insane production schedule this summer.
We shot 22 short films in a month and a half. We, 22 students, who half of had not touched film equipment until less than eleven months ago. We accomplished this nearly impossible feat. We had two days for each show to shoot. Each show had 5 days of pre-production for the ATL. Each show, we alternated to a new crew position.
I produced an action comedy involving stunts and pirates. I shot a dark comedy about the fear of fatherhood. I designed a traditional Indian wedding. And I directed a story that takes place in the main characters' imaginations.
In addition, I BTL crewed a wide array of fantastic, inspired stories.
I'm so proud of my peers and what we together have accomplished in spite of time and budget and weather restrictions. For the record, Florida is toasty in the summer.
We each had a week to edit our films and then spent a week editing someone else's. Now we go into a week of sound editing. On the other side of which, we will screen our films in Tallahassee, marking our transition into our second and final year of grad school.
We've all learned so much in the past year and grown as filmmakers. I can't wait to see where this next year takes us as we continue to collect artistic and collective skill.
