We've wrapped production on "The Stranger," my MFA thesis film. I completed it with the help of a phenomenal cast and dedicated crew. I actually don't feel very different. There's more time in the day; but the end of the filming was anti-climactic. I'm not sure that's a bad thing. It means I have momentum to move forward into post and the next project. It was interesting - with this project I could see what could be better in real time (vs. a few weeks later). Most of those things couldn't be amended due to time, budget, etc. But it was nice to know I'm learning and becoming more aware in the moment. I can see the progress we've made from our first projects here at FSU. In a year and a half, we've improved in our story, technique, and resourcefulness. It's been so encouraging. Of course, none of know what we'll be doing upon graduation - if we'll ever direct again. But the knowledge of our capabilities and the life skills we've acquired will serve us wherever we go. I wrote more about those life skills in my medium article, linked below. Now, post!
